Un Kin states: - I am 25 years of age. Up to the 19th of the 5th moon (18th June) I was engaged as a watchman to a Fantan gambling house in Cheng Hing Street. I was employed by Lam Chi on the 13th of the 11th moon of last year. Lam Chi had a share in the Wa Lane gambling house. Besides acting as a watchman, I sometimes helped the shroff and accountant at the gambling house in testing the money, and in writing down the bribes paid from the gambling house. I used also to pay bribes to some Indian Police Sergeants. I did not pay any Indian Constables. I also paid money to some persons who were sent by some European Police to receive bribes on their behalf.

I recognise the two Indians present. They are Sergeants. They wear three stripes. Their numbers are 547 and 661.

I have paid money to both of them. I have paid money to 547 since the 12th moon of last year. I paid him about 6 times. He used to come for the money himself every 10 or 20 days. He did not come to the gambling house. He used
